Fresh and Easy
MBW has several crews dedicated to the trade of polishing concrete floors. The popularity has increased in recent years due to a polished floor’s durability, ease of maintenance, low-expense and attractive aesthetic. Our polished concrete floors can be seen as the decorative finish for many popular retail chains and grocery stores.
One of our biggest customers for polished floors is Fresh and Easy. We have completed over 100 stores on the West Coast. In a typical Fresh and Easy our scope of work would include a grind, polish, stain, scrub, and seal to the interior slab. We would do one pass of 100/200/400/800 resins applying one coat of stain and seal. Below are a few photos of our work at a Fresh and Easy Store.
Step by Step Caulking
1) Old caulking that has begun to split from the wall and now needs to be replaced.
2) After completely removing the old caulking, MBW inserts tilt foam into the joint to provide a backing for the caulking. We use the tilt foam because caulking cannot be touching three sides of the concrete or it will pull it in three separate directions and cause it to crack.
3) As the tilt foam is being inserted the guys continually clean the joint to make sure they are not sealing in any dirt or debris.
4) Next the guys mix the color pack into the caulking. There are hundreds of colors on color charts that we can mix into the caulking per the preference of the customer and the aesthetic that they desire for the building.
5) The guys insert the caulking into a caulking gun and begin filling the joints from the top down.
6) Finished caulked joint.
